In 2006, Project Bangladesh partnered with Grameenphone's youth brand, djuice. Grameenphone is the largest telecom company in the nation with over 15 million subscribers. This partnership resulted in a collaboration called Project dYouth, the nation's first contest that tied in business, community service, and corporate social responsibility.
Project dYouth is an arena for the youth to work together to express their creativity, interact, highlight their potential, and give back to the community. Why business and community service? At Project dYouth, we aim to encourage a youth generation that is innovative, skilled, and at the same time, aware and active. Participants are given an opportunity to learn essential business skills as well as an avenue to share their business ideas, but are also reminded of the importance of giving back. The motto of the contest is “put ur heads 2gether,” emphasizing our belief that by working and thinking together, we can make great things happen. The winners are deemed as djuice brand ambassadors for one year.
Project dYouth is a powerful platform for the youth of Bangladesh to display their many business talents, share ideas and opinions, express creativity, and collectively participate in service. In its first year, the show was successfully able to attract over 750 teams, which means over 7000 students applying nationwide.
Project Bangladesh is the youngest strategic partner of Grameenphone and this partnership will continue in the following years as we approach the next season of Project dYouth.
